Not that I could have told you it was "hobnail milk glass" I liked, because I'm pretty sure I remember it from one of my grandmother's homes.

And I'm very sure nobody was discussing "hobnail milk glass" at Grandma's house.
(source)It was just where we drank our orange juice . . . or into which we put our flowers . . . or filled with ice water.

As a dedicated polka dot LOVER, hobnail milk glass gives me polka dots on creamy white glass that can not only be seen but also felt!!

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.....i love how you are happy to use it for blooms as well...its too pretty to put away...i have a couple of pieces...i think...looks the same, although i had thought of it simply as milk glass. Might get a pic later! Thanks for popping by...groovy day :)x

ReplyDeleteI remember using the same pitcher somewhere along the line........love them! Funny, I just saw two of these hobnail vases in unusual shapes yesterday at our local junk place....$1.00 each.....but walked away from them. Now you make me wonder if i should go back...........Food for thought! Have a great weekend Shelley! XO
ReplyDeleteI've always loved it too! My grandmother had a lamp like the one in your picture. Love that you were able to bring some home!
ReplyDeleteOh, my mom has these too. Love the pictures!
ReplyDeleteLOVELY! However, your post has scraped off a thick layer to the resistance coating I painfully established to ward off any thoughts of adding these beauties to my collection of dishes!!! Bless your heart! You really did bring home a precious set of hobnail and it is even more special when it comes from family. Love the scrumptious way you captured their beauty in this photo...YUM. YUM. YUM.!!
