A Knight with a 10-Key

Well, here I am . . . back from bloggy break. Library books, clean laundry, and greeting cards all where they should be.

And the checkbook, oh the checkbook. Yes, it has recovered and is getting along just swimmingly.

You know what, that is one of the nicest things about being married to an accountant. He may drive me crazy with his attempts to put me on a budget; having his closet organized by color, season, and sleeve length; his ability to tell if I opened his top dresser drawer and just looked in; his need to keep a shelf of the refrigerator just for him so that nobody else's stuff messes his system up ---

Wait, where was I going with this?

Oh, yeah, frustrations with accountant-husbands.

But it must be said that one of the truly nicest things about being married to an accountant is that if I make some messy financial mistakes, he can pretty much rescue me.

And I'm not too self-sufficient not to just love me a little rescuing some times . . . yes, a little damsel in distress . . . uh-huh, a little fair maiden tied to the proverbial train tracks.

Come to think of it, this accountant-husband of mine is quite a knight in shining armor.

And I need to remember that, when I go to drive his car and he asks me not to get any fingerprints on it because he just washed it.

(Shoot . . . forget the fingerprints. I consider it a good day when I don't back into a mailbox or sideswipe a gas pump!)

Funny thing about those knights in shining armor---sometimes they throw you off a little by showing up in glasses, a starched white shirt, and running a 10-key adding machine . . . really fast.

  2. Hope you had a nice "break!" I know how hard it is to see the number of posts dwindle down. Glad we're both back from our breaks! (And that all of your chores are done!)

  4. I haven't stopped by in a while, so I was scrolling down, reading what I missed, and had to come out from lurking to tell you I laughed out loud when I read this post! My husband is an accountant too (well, degree in accounting, career in auditing) and he does nearly ALL of what you wrote about your husband, down to the fingerprint on the car and knowing when you've opened one of his drawers! nice to know i'm not the only one. I like to tease him that he's an auditor by nature as well as vocation. =) thanks for the smiles!
