Still Glad

I always wanted one of these.

A sister.

In my typical idealistic world view, a sister would be the ultimate confidante, the ultimate encourager, and, of course, we'd share the ultimate wardrobe!

I also believed that having a large family would be similar to living in the "Sound of Music" and having a dog would be be close to the experience of "Lassie."  Some dreams die hard.

I'm still hopeful.

But with all the imperfections that having a sister might bring to one's life,

I'm still glad that both of my girls have one of these.

A sister.

  2. Your girls are so beautiful! Sisters are truly great - I've been blessed with 2 of the. It's not always easy, but so forever. I'm praying now that all 3 of my girls will be good friends (and that they not forget to include their brother :)

  3. Sisters are the best...well, except maybe when they are teenagers, and "borrowing" each others clothes or makeup. :) Seriously, we fought like cats and dogs, but we protected each other to the death should someone make the grave mistake of hurting one of us. :)

  4. You have beautiful and lovely daughters. I have a sister and we fought like crazy for the most part. I always wanted a big brother (that was my protector and champion) and a cat (we had a dog :-)... and to have a family like "The Brady Bunch", "Eight Is Enough" or "The Waltons"...
